Al Ain desert

National Day Bling ala Al Ain

A friend was reminiscing last week about when he used to drive his Ferrari powered by aviation fuel on the Dubai-Al Ain road. Alas, the newer radar installed last month are even more accurate than the old ones. The turret flashes a photo at your license plate with a blinding light when triggered. Then the police drop in at home. The limit is 139 in Dubai and 159 in Abu Dhabi.

These have a reputation for being inaccurate. GPS in the rental car works BTW. Regardless it's against National character to have anything old whether it works or not. They're being replaced.

Fencing is like jewelry here. It's of every imaginable variety, style and quality.

Meditation, yoga, photography, bashing, whatever...we've got sand.

Now it's truth in advertising.

This is a rural house. Nothing special. Really. It's not. It's normal.

Paragliding at night into the city. I'm home.
